Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you start using the Sheet Notifications Addon (hereafter referred to as the Addon), express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You

We collect the following information when you use the Addon:

Name - Collected from your Google™ profile
Email address - Collected from your Google™ profile
Google Sheets™ workbook and sheet names - Collected as you use the Addon

Information we collect automatically

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Addon. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use the Addon and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of the Addon, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Permissions we request

We request the following permissions from you when you use the Addon:

See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets™ spreadsheets - We need this permission to detect changes to the spreadsheets to authorise the Addon to access. Processing of your data happens on Google™'s servers and none of your spreadsheet data is sent to our servers.
Connect to an external service - We require this permission to store and retrieve metadata associated to a user's Addon account. We also require this permission to contact our third party vendors such as email providers when sending out notifications
Allow this application to run when you are not present - This is required so that we can detect changes to spreadsheets you've authorised the Addon to access even when carried out by someone else
Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google™ applications - This permission is required to provide an interactive page within Google Sheets™ that you can use to interact with the Addon

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information collected via the Addon for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations. We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below:

To facilitate account creation and logon process
To send administrative information to you
To send notifications as requested by you
To respond to user inquiries/offer support to users
To personalize the Addon experience to the user
To collect feedback for improving the Addon
To analyse user behavior and improve our services

Sharing Your Information

We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations. We may process or share your data that we hold based on the following legal basis:

Consent: We may process your data if you have given us specific consent to use your personal information for a specific purpose.
Third party vendors: We may share your data with 3rd party vendors who need that data to provide a service to us. This includes our email provider Mailgun™ and Google Cloud™ who is our Cloud compute provider.
Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

Your Privacy Rights

In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability.
